HVAC Technicians (2 IMMEDIATE OPENINGS):
Seeking qualified candidates, minimum 5 yrs. experience required in trouble shooting & problem solving. Refrigeration experience also required.  Good computer (mobile device) skills, organizational skills, & time management skills are key ingredients for those self-motivated & eager to provide professional customer service.  We need individuals who are able to “hit the ground running” in the HVAC Service field to provide quality customer service for our customers.  Valid driver’s license required.

Entry Level Mechanical Engineer

 

James Craft & Son, Inc., a well established Mechanical Contractor doing business throughout South Central Pennsylvania, has a position available for an entry level Mechanical Engineer with an interest in HVAC and Plumbing systems design and commissioning.

 

Job Description:

Job involves the design and layout of HVAC and plumbing systems for new and existing buildings. Review project specifications and design criteria, perform HVAC load calculations, develop system layouts, and evaluate equipment selections and installation requirements.

Prepare construction drawings and installation details, project cost estimates and sales proposals.

 

Work with in-house sales, estimating and project management team members to provide design assistance and technical support for new and existing projects. Meet with clients as needed to review their needs for upgrades and renovations to existing mechanical systems, and investigate installation, maintenance, design and application issues or deficiencies.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science or Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have a well-rounded knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and an interest in applying this knowledge towards the construction and renovation of commercial, industrial, institutional and health care type projects.
  • Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD MEP and business software.
  • Confidence, self-motivated and resourcefulness are essential qualities.
  • Desire to pursue state professional engineering license.
  • Ethical conduct in personal and business activities.
  • Good driving record.

Safety Manager:

Our commercial & industrial construction firm takes safety seriously, and we require all of our
employees to use the highest industry practices to keep everyone safe on the job. To that end,
we’re seeking an experienced Safety Manager with the ability to help direct and manage our
organization’s safety performance within a commercial & industrial construction environment.
This position is responsible for developing objectives to provide guidance and comprehensive
on-site safety assessments of construction projects while increasing effectiveness of the
organization’s safety culture, evaluate and help facilitate the safety protocols followed on various
job sites, perform site safety visits and assist in correcting deficiencies, and help with pre-task
planning of critical equipment placement and installation.
Qualified candidates should have at least 3 to 5 years of safety management experience with
experience in the commercial & industrial construction industry and understand the specific
safety issues inherent to construction sites, and a good understanding of OSHA 1926/1910
regulations and compliance requirements. A degree in occupational safety and health or a closely
related field is preferred. OSHA 30 hour and/or OSHA 500 course are also preferred. Excellent
English communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required.
The physical demands essential to successfully perform this job are, but are not limited to,
climbing stairs and ladders, use of lifts and elevators, negotiate work areas under construction,
good vision and depth perception, and good balance and hearing. Also, the use of hand tools,
controls, the ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, and awareness of environment. Employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The job requires travel to job sites and some field work, so reliable transportation and a flexible
schedule are a must.

Chiller Technician:
Seeking qualified candidates who have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Centrifugal/Screw Chiller Systems including troubleshooting, maintenance and repair. Candidates should have experience with York, Trane, McQuay or Carrier Systems. Applicants must be flexible in their day to day job assignments and extremely dependable. Valid driver’s license required.

Licensed Plumbing Mechanics:

James CRAFT & Son, Inc. seeks licensed plumbing mechanics that have experience working in the commercial/industrial mechanical construction industry. Candidates must be crossed trained in HVAC installation  and have experience in demoing, installing and servicing mechanical equipment and materials.  Applicants must be flexible in their day to day job assignments and extremely dependable. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
